My PC has been freezing every few hours since I installed Ubuntu 12-10. I mostly use G+ and YouTube on Chromium. I went back to 12-04. I will wait until 12-10 stabilizes.

I have the same problem, but it happened in 11.10, 12.04, and 12.10. How can I begin trouble shooting? What are the common causes of a complete system freeze?

OS: 12.10 32 bit
Laptop: Asus B53J
Processor: Intel I5
Graphics card: ATK, I think.
System freezes every time I use it.
Symptoms:
- Sometimes I can move the mouse, sometimes I can't.
- It happens randomly, even while browsing the internet.
- It can be a few hours after I start it up, or sooner.
- It happens invariably if I try to load music to a music player through Rhythm Box

Mine seems to be related to G+, which is new and developing with lots of bugs. Isolate and identify the cause by running the suspected programs one by one and in combinations. Like a detective.

I can say that it happens when running Chrome, Rhythm Box, Banshee, and Libre Office.
