Hi,

Since a Linux armel/arm machine is available on devices of the size of a pendrive (big bigger), does Wrist watches already exist with Linux (Ubuntu or Android + webcam)?

Probably it will come first from Apple again, then Microsoft...

thanks

What he said.

Why would you need a computer on your wrist?

Well unless you want a Pip-Boy.. (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Pip-Boy)

I already have a portable computer that can make phone calls, take photos, show me the time, and do a bunch of other stuff; it's called a smartphone. Why would I need another one just to tell me the time?

As a runner I'd be interested in an android wristwatch with GPS built in. Why? because it can track my runs. It would tell me how fast I'm going, how far I've gone and could sync with my training plan so I would know if I was close to reaching my goals. I normally carry a small, cheap Android phone during my runs to do all of this. I was able to slash my 10k times by about 10 minutes using the Micoach application. I signed up for a training program on their website and it sync'ed to my phone. During the run my phone showed me my speed, time and distance and sent all the data to the website so I could see a more detailed analysis later. When I ran a marathon it was a bit of a hassle carrying the phone for several hours.

It could be possible if you could find a way to load it onto a 6th gen iPod nano. They made watch attachments for those and with some work im sure someone could get linux running on it.

Thanks ... sounds interesting. However it is a closed OS.

With Ubuntu Linux on it, Wireless, and webcam would be very interesting to have.

Michael Knight had a good watch for talking to KITT. Why don't you buy him a cheeseburger and ask him where he got it?

You got the idea what you could do with a Linux networked watch ;)

Btw what is doing Michael Knight?

Cool post thanks. It could be updated a bit with new movies.

With a Linux watch, I could do many many things.

Something great would be a mini USB-port so that I can plug my RJ45 and mini nerd keyboard link (http://www.tablix.org/~avian/blog/images2/2009/07/happy_hacking_keyboard_lite2_usb.jpg)

Confession time: I once had a watch remarkably similar to Frank Murphy's watch.
