Hi,
this morning I upgraded 12.04 to 12.10 and I had a bad surprise. Eclipse (passed from 3.7 to 3.8) does not work anymore. It starts only on an empty workspace and it is not possible to create a simple Hello world java project. It seems like Java does not exist for Eclipse, also the syntax-highlightning of a normal .java file is KO (I have openjdk-6 installed).
Instead if I use the tar.gz on Eclipse website (Indigo 3.7) all works but I don't like a lot this solution...have you any idea please?

Thank you very much for the help.

Davide

Just curious - what version of Java did you have installed on 12.04 and what version of Java do you have installed now? Just so that you are aware, I ran into problems with Eclipse 4.2 (the current version) on 12.10, which is the primary reason that I've gone back to 12.04.

Hi, the Java version is always openjdk-6, the same for 12.04 and 12.10. It works fine with Eclipse 3.7 (but also 4.2) with Eclipse tar.gz.

Thanks!

When I installed 12.10, I found a lot of issues with Eclipse 4.2 (I run the Oracle Java). That's the primary reason that I have gone back to 12.04.

Sorry that I don't have a solution to make Eclipse work in 12.10.
