How to post a new thread in the mailing list thread...

This has really puzzled me: How do you post new thread in the Ubuntu Users Mailing List Thread (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=6) ? I subscribe to the mailinglist (but not with the e-mail address in my forum profile) and I would really like to be able to post a question now and then in this very lively forum.

When I try to post a new thread, I get this message:
total-noob, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:


1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit
someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting
activation.

Am I missing out some very basic information already posted?

What I assume is that the Mailing List Thread can only be started by sending email to the Mailing List. UbuntuForums only support the display of the thread and subsequent replies.

Hmmm... This could be a strong case of having been blinded by the obvious, I guess! I just had some doubts whether it was mainly a web forum or a traditional mailing list. I will try posting something relevant when having troubles and look forwards for the instant responses from the warm and vibrant Ubuntu community - possibly the biggest asset of this remarkable distribution. :)

Yes, well thank you... I also found this information after submitting my first posting. This getting more and more embarrassing! By now, I think I need to figure out how delete a posting in this forum... :)
