Searching the forums, so I thought I would check this out.
Is ubuntu christian edition an OS of it's own ?:)

It's an official "spin", kind of like Xubuntu and Lubuntu, IIRC. It's standard Ubuntu with several extra applications installed (of interest to Christians) and with some configuration tweaks.
The project is headed by our own stlsaint.

You can download it here (http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=07438) (see the links in the bottom of the announcement), and either try the liveCD or install in a virtual box (or of course, install to a partition on your HDD)

Thank you cortman; I looked at the site you provided, i'm not really sure what i should get here. Iso download,md5sum and uce-12.04.
I am running ubuntu 12.04 on an older acer laptop, 32bit system.
Is the live cd a download i have to burn to cd?
I don't know what a virtual box is, can you explain that one please?
I have lots of room on my hard drive as 12.04 is my only OS. If i do that in effect do I
then have 2 OS on a dual boot?
How large a download is it as I use the public library broadband for downloads of
400 mb or more.?
I apologize for all the questions, but my computer illiteracy is showing up.
Thank you for the help, I will be away from the computer till tomorrow Am.

Just an afterthought here, i am already running ubuntu 12.04, can't I just download some of the software relevant to CE and try it out? I looked in the software centre but there is
nothing there which is fine as I haven't had great success down loading from there anyway.
Anyone have some links to this software ? and Thank you for looking.

just noticed this reply, as I have learned, the dansguardian web
filter runs in the terminal.
