This question came up on the 1210 development thread. I saw no answer so I am reposting it.
I have downloaded the beta's and the latest iso
of ubuntu gnome remix. I use the DD command to write the iso to a usb hard disk. I do this for all installs so I know it works. Just did an install for 1210 this way.
The problem is with the gnome remix images they are written but are not bootable. Anyone got a workaround? This is a development problem but
seems noone is interested in fixing it.
Any ideas?

What are you currently running? If you are running the 12.10 beta, then Startup Disc Creator should work without issue. (It worked for me.) Good luck.

Startup disk creator is not what I am asking about. It is not suitable for my purpose.
