Gnome 3 / 12.10 = no video

Hi

I have just upgraded to 12.10 and reinstalled gnome 3.
Problem is that when i try to stream media " *.avi" file or any other movie VLC and any other media player does not show the video.

However if i start up into Unity everything works fine. ( for the record i prefer to use Gnome 3)

Has anyone got this problem?>

SMB credentials within VLC.

NOw seems to work.. strange!
