compiz wallpaper plugin has gone where?

I am one of those users that spent years (no exageration here) tinkering with my wallpaper list to get it just right to find that is looks like it has been removed in 0.9.8.

Can someone who is in the know explain the reason it has seemingly been removed.

If it isn't going to come back in some guise or another could someone suggest a similar alternative that i could use.

I don't use Quantal, but this may have something to do with it (https://smspillaz.wordpress.com/2012/09/07/maintainers-for-the-unsupported-plugins/).

Have you installed the extra plugins? It might be in there.
