I just looked into /usr and expected to find a man directory, but it wasn't there. Anyone know? Did they run away? I made sure to provide enough food, water and shelter :( .

Thanks guys. One more question. Why did their position change? Why did the Ubuntu developers decide to put them into share and not leave it where it usually is?

Don't know. One of the great Mysteries of the Universe, I guess.

What does that Linux File System Standard document say?
EDIT: This (http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html) one.

Just verified it, they are always in /usr/share/man. At least that's where they are on my Gentoo Box, on my Debian Server and on my Ubuntu Notebook ;)
