I decided to upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 to check out the latest version of unity and it has screwed everything up. I think Gnome logs into fallback mode because of a driver issue. Im using a GTX 580 to display 2 monitors. Ive tried playing around with nvidia xserver settings with each of the following drivers:
- nvidia-current
- nvidia-current-updates
- nvidia-experimental
- nvidia-eperimental-updates
Still with no luck.
