The consolidated desktop image does not support installation to software RAID configurations. Users wishing to install to such a configuration are advised to use the mini.iso image available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/netboot/quantal/, or use the 12.04 LTS alternate CD and upgrade.

I read that ubuntu would discontinue the mini ISO to make less cd's to manage so dod not expect to see one.
