I take it that the publisher is no longer bothering with distributing legit copies that I can download? Is the publisher still in business?

MicroProse is still around. At least someone is developing games under that name. I checked their website and they have the same logo as they did back in the day. Most of their titles seem second tier to me....well, maybe not the Girl Fight title that's coming soon :)

I remember spending days playing RR Tycoon on the Amiga years ago. It was a great game at that time. Haven't played nor seen it in years though.

Use it to install the windows version of railroad tycoon2.

I did this with dora the explorer game and it works.

I have the Windows version and it works in Wine (tried yesterday evening when I saw your topic). Yeah I know a native Linux version is nicer but I wouldn't know where to get it either. I have the RTII Platinum edition but there is no Linux installer on the CD.
