Desktop setup like Ubuntu 7.10

Good day,

I was wondering if Ubuntu 12.04 had the capability to make the desktop look like 7.10. No Unity bar, tabs at the top, etc.

Yes and no. You can use other graphical environments but probably it will not be equal to ubuntu 7.10. since it last from 2007.

When the login screen click on the small symbol next to your name a list will pop down and you can choose your environment. Like GNOME classic or Ubuntu 2D.

You may like to try KDE. I think it's quite similar to old gnome 2 or at least much nearer than unity and gnome 3.

Yes. Give MATE a spin. It is GNOME 2 in every way except for the name basically.
