Today i updated for the first time in months and all seems well except for the topbar that turns transparent every time i scroll over the sound indicator to lower or turn up the volume. It stays transparent as long as the osdnotify message is showing and turns normal again when it goes away. Any ideas on how i can fix this? I am using Ubuntu 12.04LTS with Unity on a laptop with an NVIDIA 8600M vcard.

Hello and Welcome

I would first try logging out/in or restarting.

Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem. Also it seems to be a notify-osd problem, because i worked around it by disabling the osd messaging option for the sound applet in dconf. I lose a bit of prettiness but at least my top bar remains like it should be all the time...
