So I prefer gnome 3 over unity and was very pleased with how easy it was to install and use on ubuntu 12.10. The only thing is that I wanted to use the amazon search to try and help raise money for ubuntu but it doesn't seem to work in gnome 3. There is an option under privacy settings that says "include online search results when searching in dash" but it is already turned on.

Any ideas on where or how to get this turned on? I'm guessing that since I'm not actually using the unity dash, that's probably where the problem stems from.

Also, how is money actually raised by doing this? Do I raise money every time I click on an amazon link or do I actually have to buy an item from amazon for anything to be earned?

This feature only works if you are using Unity.

Gnome 3 doesn't use the Dash for searching, it uses the Gnome Shell.
