Hello!

I wasn't sure where else I could post this and considering Ubuntu Forums seems to be thriving with knowledgeable people, I thought I would try and ask a question on here :)

I've just ordered a TV service called BT Vision, which I'm sure some of you may have heard of...
One of the services it offers is On-Demand television catchup via a connection to the internet. This is done with a Powerline connection to the Router.

But the problem (or so I think is a problem) is that I already have a powerline connection set-up within the house, using Devolo products... If BT were to send a different brand of Powerline adaptors, would this conflict with the current Powerline Adaptors from Devolo I have set-up?

If anyone knows the answer, Thank you in advance!

My daughter has bt vision and it runs well through their powerline devices.

I remember reading last year that they are not compatible with other makes.

That may now have changed. I'd ring bt to find out.

Would there be a conflict even if I had a set-up of:

PC connected to Devolo Powerline adaptor > to a Devolo Powerline adaptor connected to the Router. Then the BT Vision box connected to a BT Powerline > to a BT Powerline connected to the router? So essentially two different powerline adaptors connected to the router?

Hope that makes sense

IIRC bt use DS2 type which aren't compatible with the homeplug standard.

Simple answer is to call bt and find out what spec of powerline adapter they are using now. They used to be comtrend I think.

This is where I saw it.
