9.10 failed to recognize the added 1GB of RAM that I installed.
I figured if I reinstalled 9.10 it might make a difference, but if
I were going to reinstall, I might just as well move to 12.04. So
I did that yesterday. Then I got VirtualBox back on board and did
a few other things.

But, I now have a couple of issues. I stumbled onto some method
if resizing the icons down the left toolbar, so cut then dowm to
32. Now I want to go smaller, but I don't remember how I did it.
Can someone please advise me on this?

The second issue is that under VirtualBox, I know longer have a
way to have the client window dominate the entire screen.

Instead it stops on the left before the icon strip, and stops at
the top below the top toolbar. I also no longer have the bottom
Ubuntu. I cannot get the VirtualBox slidebar because they say
everything was moved to the top by Ubuntu, but that's all been
changed.

What I want is (1) resize the iconbar on the left, (2) be able
to go to full screen with a VirtualBox client, (3) get back the
VirtualBox slidebar, (4) see the taskbar on the bottom when I
am dealing with Ubuntu. How do I do this?

I can answer just for icon size.Type appearance in dash and when it open on the bottom you will see slider for changing icon size.
