workaround
October 7th, 2012, 09:44 PM
I just installed Ubuntu and on top having problems with screen resolution I do have a problem with mouse. It acts spongy. It is the wireless one from logitech hooked to DZ77 MB. Is this type of mouse OK to use or should I use another one?
Thanks.:guitar:

What do you mean by spongy?

It feels like it is on rubber band might be a better description.

When was the last time you replaced the batteries in the wireless mouse?

Are you saying it lags?

Yeah, I don't exactly understand what your mouse is doing.

OK, it is a brand new mouse and so battery is new, when I pull the mouse it lags at first and when I stop it overshoots like it would be on a rubber band, it has no smooth movement, it jumps in small increments.
I remember similar movements on windows (3.1 or so) but I don't remember how I fixed it, it was long time ago.

Well then.

I've had that problem on Win7.

Had to contact support :P

will1982, what did you have to do to fix it? I replaced the wireless with Microsoft wired and it does the same thing. Before I installed Ubuntu it worked fine on this machine but since the Ubuntu installation it misbehaves. It needs to be within Ubuntu if it worked while using windows!? I would say it has to do with interrupts.

Had this problem on Win7 before I used Ubuntu.
I replaced the battery. That worked for a while.

Then, it did this again. Had to contact support, they told me the mouse was dead.

Got a new one, works perfectly with Ubuntu and Windows

I honestly have no idea how to fix yours :(

Do you still have the same issues once you try different USB ports on the PC?

I fixed it! They tell you where to connect you mouse on the mobo but that does not work and so I used different USB port and it is working fine now.
Thanks for any help.
