corrupted compiz file - screen resolution?

I just installed Ubuntu but the Screen resolution does not reflect correct settings. I accessed the "compiz" file but it tells me that there is a problem with the file; it is scrambled!? Any idea how to deal with that or change the screen resolution?:confused:

I resolved the screen resolution; I downloaded Ubuntu within Ubuntu again and ran extraction and it fixed the screen resolution - excellent!
