Here's an issue about how tabs in xfce4-terminal will look in Xubuntu 12.10 (https://github.com/shimmerproject/Greybird/issues/15) versus how they look in 12.04 for users of Greybird, the default theme.

While it's easy for even me to fix, I'm curious about the line of thinking here because differentiating things by means of subtle color differences seems to be the fashion of the moment.

OS X is really bad for this. Grey text on grey backgrounds, ug. Must bit a bit of a nightmare if your eyesight isn't pin-sharp.

I'm not a professional in these matters but I would guess that even people with "normal" vision would suffer some eye-fatigue even if they don't realize it.
