My ANTEC 300 case has spaces for 3 fans .... 2 are factory installed but I need a dummy plate cover for the 3d opening. otherwise it will draw air thru the un-used fan opening rather than the washable air filter

anybody know where to get a dummy fan plate cover ?

Are you talking about the side panel?

I taped a clear peice of plexiglass on the inside of my case over the unused fan hole.

I'm going to hunt for something that will act as an air filter,--

that cpu has to dissipate 125w. no wonder it has to have that massive heat sink and fan assembly!!

the reason i don't want to leave the un-used fan opening unprotected is i don't want it to draw dust in

a friend of mine who works in a local metal fabricator cut a dummy plate for me

it is important to get that dummy plate installed: the Antec 300 includes a washable air filter -- in its front pannel. but if that un-used fan opening is left open the fans will draw un-filtered air into the case. computers get too dirty inside I don't want to make it worse !! i like the idea the case has incorporate an air filter plan

I would have looked at the bottom of a coffee tin...

Just tape some heavy duty tinfoil over it.

Of course - Ductape, the ultimate solution!
