Linux (or Windows) Media Player

I was wanting to try to create a simple music player in C, or C++ and I was wondering if anyone knew of any free source code that would at least get me started. I already know how to access the cd drive and open the files, but need help on decoding and directing that output, in a listenable form, to the speakers.

Open source players are giving the source code to all users who interested . just look at those websites to get the source code .
