Irrespective of which is lighter/faster/better, I wanted to provide the link as a resource for people who are interested in using Lubuntu.

Very useful, I have bookmarked. Thank you very much vasa1

Lubuntu is the one distro which resurrect my old pentiumIII laptop (ten years old), 1 GHz CPU, 512 MB ram, from which 64 MB go for the sis 630/730 graphics card. Before, it was running win xp sp3, but the computer only worked for the antivirus.

I will try some of the tips and tricks addressed in the guide.

One nice tip (Section 3: Desktop) for thicker window borders: open themerc and edit this line (near the end of the file):

border.width: 1 to a suitable value.
My themerc is here: ~/.themes/Theme_name/openbox-3/themerc

That's the spirit! Thanks for the link!
Hopefully it will be of good use for me.
Keep up the good work vasa1 =D>
