I was running Ubuntu 10.04 successfully on my 64 bit system, and upgraded to 12.04. I have struck a couple of problems with this:

1. During installation I got a message saying a problem had occurred while installing linux-image-3.2.0-31-generic. This causes problems with attempts to install other software like Skype.

2. I can no longer run non-mirrored dual displays. It wants to add the number of pixels from each display together, which takes it out of range.

Any help would be appreciated :)

UPDATE: Despite getting an error message trying to install Skype, it seems to have installed OK. So maybe problem 1 above is not a problem.

But the dual monitor problem remains. First I tried using System Settings > Displays, and that is when I got the "required virtual size does not fit available size" message. Then I tried using the Catalyst Control Center, but the changes I try to make there are not saved when I re-boot.
