I see from the forums archives that many users have wireless issues. Mine relates to a new installation of Ubuntu. I had tried to upgrade to 12 from 11, but that locked my machine up (HP laptop running an IntelPentium processor and 500mb of RAM).
Now I have Ubuntu 12 running I cant use wireless. There's a hardware switch which wont enable wireless. Network settings tells me that Aeroplane mode is ON. I can turn it off but it wont stay off.
BIOS setting for wireless is enabled.
It seems that there is something in the boot process that disables the wireless. Or the adapter has failed.
Has anyone else come across a similar issue with Ubuntu 12?
