I'm not expecting an answer but why doesn't the classic menu come with Ubuntu out of the box? I had to do this:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:diesch/testing

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install classicmenu-indicator

which is ok but why not just have the little icon there when you install Ubuntu? People are used to these menus and Ubuntu is supposed to be for ordinary people. It seems natural, "pedagogically correct".

Maybe you should try the gnome classic desktop. It can be installed with your unity desktop and you can choose which one you want to run at boot.

sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback

Will this also give the user full control over the classic gnome menu's??
