Let me start by saying Ubuntu is great, I use it on my second laptop (Toshiba Tecra T2). I raved on about in work I have just bought 2 new severs to run LAMP.

To start our changeover to Ubuntu , lets do something simple "Change the OS for the print server. The print server consists of the following:-
1. Lexmark T620
2. Brother MFC-5840CN
3. HP Scanjet 5590

I tried to get the Lexmark T620 to work across the network to no avail.
So I thought try a Lexmark X73 plugged in locally via a usb. Printer was detected straight away ....:) but nothing would print:( .

Reading through the forums I find a number of people having the similar print problems.

It seems im going to have to abandon changing over the print server as I cannot go out & buy all new. This is a shame.

This has put doubts in my head whether to use Linux in work enviroment:?:

Thoughts???

I haven't had much luck with network printing either. The printers are shared on a windows computer and alll the windows machines can print on them but none of the Linux ones can. I haven't spent much time trying to fix it though
