Hi,

I am using Ubuntu 12.4 64-bit with Gnome 3...
At the right-top corner there is this "sound settings" thingy. When I boot my PC WITH my headset attached, then it is listed there and works properly. But if I hot-plug it at runtime, it is NOT listed there. But this seems to be a problem of this fancy dialog since "aplay -l" and "cat /proc/asound/cards" list my hot-plugged headset...

So how can I get it to work with-hotplug? I kinda dislike the idea of having a microphone attached at all time to my PC, call me paranoid.

Please note I am a Linux noob, so keep it simple :D.

regards
chris
