Hi,
I have a strange problem with an ubuntu 12.04 64 bit box, running the standard unity UI environment. the desktop doesn't seem to be getting mouse events, while the unity 'task bar' on the left, and the top menu bar does get mouse events.
this means that I cannot click on any of the icons on the desktop, for example. it also means that if I start a program (say a file browser window), the window itself will not get mouse inputs either.
I have several machines running ubuntu 12.04, and this is the only one experiencing this problem. what could be the cause of this? more importantly: how to solve this issue?
