I just noticed the that I can't resize windows in 3rd party applications such as Opera and Chrome by grabbing the edge with the cursor in Ubuntu 2D.

Resizing windows is possible by using the option in the title bar context menu. I was wondering if this has always been the case or just noticed this for the first time. (please confirm)

Updates for Unity 2D common were installed on 9/13 and don't know if this is the reason.

Hello and Welcome

I'm sorry I don't know. I decided to use 2D today and Opera was maximized when I opened it . I un-maximized Opera and decided to test manual resize with the cursor and it worked. I then tested Chrome responded as well.

I did use the unity --reset command in 3D since starting this thread. As I wrote I had to use the resize option found by right clicking the title bar the day I discovered resizing with the cursor wasn't working.
