Looks like development has ended on that application, but it has been superseded by other programs- see here. (http://askubuntu.com/questions/131976/how-to-install-startupmanager-in-12-04)

Not having a grub modification program in the supported software really sux. Doing a search for grub and related items to find out what replaced the missing startupmanager failed, so I installed mint 13 on that partition (still use mint debian as my main OS and I wanted it to boot by default). The changes that 12.04 makes to grub are not completely blown away by installing mint 13, so I wound up with a mint debian reinstallation as well.

Can you guess how interested I am in 12.10?
