View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ubuntu 12.04 continuously freeze after instaing on new ssd

Hi

I installed 12.04 on new ssd ocz
When I was trying to shut down my laptop after installation it continuously freeze
After rebooting I got
error: unknown file system
grub rescue
I tried 11.04 3 times 12.04 2 time sand fedora 17 and I got
error: unknown file system
grub rescue
Could you write what is wrong ?
Maybe my new ssd is faulty ?

did you do any tweaks to your fstab?

are you installing with only one hard drive plugged in?

And when you re-install do you wipe the drive clean?

just 1 ssd
I Cleared whole data

what do you think about updating firmware in my ssd ocz vertex + ?

+1 on the firmware update. Then if you still have problems you need to start looking at having a faulty drive

hi

Today I have swapped disc for new and exactly the same problem
I was installing vista and got blue screen
Wrong batch or something?

Check BIOS settings set SATA to ACHI

I dnt think thats the cause of your problems but worth a look
