View Full Version : [ubuntu] 12.04 upgrade. desktop stuff doesn't load

upgraded to 12.04 and it refuses to load in the newer versions, but in the oldest version, it boots and operates properly (so far as i can tell).
once i''m done here, i'll reboot and check the versions that don'e work and the one that does.

i am now trying to upgrade and this is what happened:

are these related and how does one even start fixing this? im a bit of a linux noob and having only limited abilities, its impossible for me to go at this alone. thanks!

well, i'm confusd about all this...

after apt-get upgrading, and then the package manager did its thing too, i loaded 12.04 successfully... strange that it would do this.

i do still appreciate everyone's time.
