I downloaded the ubuntu amd64-alternate 12.04.1 image via torrent, used the startup disc creator function on my main computer. My main computer is running ubuntu 10.04.
When I put the USB stick into my asus netbook, and select to boot of the USB stick all I get is a small grey rectangle at the bottom right of the screen and if I push return it goes away and nothing else happens.
Anyone come across anything like this before?
