Try changing the mirror it uses in the update manager.

How do I change the mirror, also, what 's the available mirrors? Is there a list somewhere I can choose mirrors from? Also, since it is a hash mismatch, is it safe to download? Thanks for yo input... but is yo input the correct choice? New LINUX user here.

Cubone2; Hi !

In response to your last:

open USC
select the edit menu item at the top of the screen
choose software sources
in the screen of the sources utility see "Download from" window, arrow at end.
click on the arrow --> choose other
then select -> select best server.

In the event this does not resolve the problem, please post back for further instruction.
