After upgrading from 10.04 to 12-04 my touchpad in a Dell Vostro 1510 has become totally dead.
Anyone knows what can I do to restore its functionality?
TIA

Joel

You might try the solutions in this link. https://wiki.edubuntu.org/HardwareSupport/Machines/Laptops/Dell/XPS/15z

Not a problem at all. This is what I love about Linux! This community here at the forums has helped me so many times how could I not. I've got the XPS 15z and I'm not a super-user by any means. It was just recently I had to use that link myself, so as you've got a Dell I just figured it would probably do the trick. Funny thing is, it is written for my specific hardware, (not written by me don't want you to think I'm trying to take credit for it) and mine worked out of the box! I just had to use the video settings there to get mine to initially boot. Glad to help...
