I have written a little Python program which allows you to set up a webcam image to use as your desktop wallpaper and updates at a chosen interval.

Please check it out at https://sourceforge.net/projects/portalviewlivew/ and let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Nice job.
Tested on a local surfcam.
Picture quality from the cam doesn't look to good so I've just
got it centred.

I just setup the live wallpaper app. it works good ,is there anyway to have the script that refreshes the pic run automaticly at startup? I am a masssive newb and have no idea how to do that.
also are there anymore webcam sites that can be used?.

cabz: Thanks for trying out the program. Glad its working for you. I'm also having trouble getting to update on startup.

Because you asked, I have added some more webcams to the locations file (more focus on international).

There are many thousands more out there. Do a google search for city, scenic, coastal, etc webcams and start looking. Directions for finding the source address are in the readme file. Remember the higher resolution ones look best on a full screen. If you find some good ones, please share them so I can add them to the list.

There is another update to the webcam locations file. 50+ locations so far, more added often. Enjoy!
