how to remove the launcher (left sidebar) in ubuntu with gnome shell?

I have took a read but i couldn t find it, do i really need to get back to Natty N, just to get rid of it?

If you are seeing the Unity launcher on your desktop, then you aren't running gnome shell. Check the screen-shots, they look fairly similar.
