Restricted Extras Installation Hangup

I just upgraded from 64 bit 10.04 to 12.04.1 and was installing some extra packages. All was fine until the terminal froze at the disclaimer screen and became unresponsive to mouse and keyboard. The "OK" to click on was not highlighted. Deletion of all Firefox add-ons did not help.
Any ideas?
Command:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

In order to access the 'OK' button you have to high the tab button once. Then you can press enter.
