matlab terminal

I have matlab 2011a on ubuntu 12.04

using /bin/matlab file (or shell , i dont know) it asks to run or run in terminal or display
i choose run
matlab starts and then ends immedietly
but using run in terminal it opens a terminal window then opens matlab and works fine


is there a way to open matlab without using terminal ??

Did you install the MatLab Debian configuration program from the software center?
