I installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside Windows XP through a USB drive using Universal USB installer. But after finishing the installation my computer boots straight to Windows XP without giving the choice of booting to Ubuntu. When I go to the list of installed operating systems it only shows Windows XP.

... go to ubuntu and ...
Except from the fact that the computer didn't boot into Ubuntu :-)
If Windows was the missing one the command would have worked.
