View Full Version : [ubuntu] "proprietary NVidia video driver required" means what?

On this page http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/200912-4895/
it says "proprietary NVidia video driver required".
What does that mean?
That this install contains the required driver?
or that I have to go find one?
And if it's known that it needs a certain driver, then why doesn't it say which one?

Once you install Ubuntu, Open the Unity Dash (the Ubuntu logo at the top right), and type in "hardware drivers" or "jockey"

Then, open the Hardware Drivers utility and install the Nvidia drivers listed.

^^ as a result, the drivers needed are not indicated as they can be installed directly in Ubuntu
