View Full Version : [ubuntu] Java version 7 update 6 is now available

Java version 7.6 just came out in the last couple of days. The link to Check your Java version is in my signature and it will probably say that you have the latest version if you have 7.5 installed.
But, if you click on the link to the left All java downloads you will see that 7.6 is available for download.
Download the Linux version for 32 bit machines or the Linux x64 version for 64 bit machines.
The .RPM version is for other Linux Distros.
Choose "save file" when prompted and then the instructions to install it are in the other link in my signature How to manually update Java.
The instructions have been updated to 7.6 so just copying and pasting is all that is needed.
For 32 bit the instructions are on the left and for 64 bit the instructions are on the right.

I am aware there is a repository for this but, if you like installing it the manual way, this will work.

If installed correctly after restarting Firefox


about:plugins

should show this:
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.7.0_06
