Hello.

I'm trying to launch Grim Fandango in Wine, but I get just a message box titled "Grim Fandango could not initialize your hardware!" containing teh message "Please make sure you are not running any other DirectX apps that take exclusive control of your hardware"

To my knowledge I do not run any application requiring DirectX at the same time (just some Konsole terminals, a Konqueror window, Krusader, Gaim and Swiftfox usually).

I have an Ati Radeon 9550 card, and tried both the proprietary and open source drivers, both with and without video overlay. I got the same results.

Could anyone shed some light on the problem?

If you do get it running, please do a HOWTO or something, whenever I try and get it running on WINE, I can install but whenever I run it, I just get a zillion fixme errors...and then it crashes out :( Apparently works on Cedega (http://cedegawiki.sweetleafstudios.com/wiki/Grim_Fandango) and someone on the WINE app db got it working, but didn't say how.. :(
