Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get a Linux VM running of Ubuntu 10.04 x64 in order to get a build environment working for the AOSP.

After running the installer and getting stuck at the notorious "VMware Tools is currently being
installed on your system." screen I did the following:

On step 3 I got a file not found error so I rebooted. I then got presented with the following screen:

I ran sudo apt-get upgrade to try and install any missing packages, rebooted, got stuck at the same screen.

Not really sure what's going right now with this install, tempted to start from scratch. I have a perfectly working linux terminal with no gnome right now.
