Does this method work in ubuntu server?

I want to ask this question... I just downloaded ubuntu server 12.04 32 bit... I just read this tutorial https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick)
I am wondering if this works in the server edition. I have an empty 32GB USB flash drive and I want to install Ubuntu there.
I asked my friends but all the replies is that they installed the desktop edition.

Just want to check Ubuntu server... Also, is there a graphical user interface in the server edition (I know the installation doesn't have one) like the gui in desktop?

Yes, the server version can be installed from usb stick. There is only one small problem because the installer stubbornly is looking for a cd-rom drive and doesn't let you continue to the next step.

But that has a solution too, I just don't remember it from the top of my head. Google for installing ubuntu server from usb stick or similar and you should find it.
