HELP!

I have tried all sorts of keyword searches to see if I can find a solution to my issue, and have not been able to.

Here is what I have ...

A Live CD with Kubuntu 12.04 for 32 bit x86
Verified the CD after it was burned
CD was also verified on two other PCs, one running Vista and the other running XP ... The two PCs boot with the Live CD
On the third PC (Sony Vaio) where I really want to use the Kubuntu, it goes for about a minute or so and just hangs up with the splash screen showing (making no further progress).
I even got Linux Mint thinking that it would solve my issue.
Same story, Linux Mint loads on the other two, but not this Sony Vaio.
It is only logical to think that there is some hardware compatibility issue.

Here is the Hardware & OS on my Sony Vaio ...
