I have looked on forums, YouTube and the official tutorials (which aren't correct by the way). I have a 2012 MacBook air without anyway of using a disk (other than via my iMac, but I don't think that would work for this). I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.

Basically what I want is to be able to dual boot Ubutu and Moutain Lion like I do Mountain Lion and Windows 7 on my iMac.

By only option is USB, which I thought I managed to do. I got it so I could load it from the USB stick, but when I tried to install and pick a Partition it just didn't work. I kept getting this error:

"No root file system is defined. Please correct this from the partitioning menu."

If someone could help me with this I would be very grateful as I really want to be able to use Ubuntu on my MacBook Air, but I don't want to lose OSX!

I think he often used Macs and installed Ubuntu in a virtual install, but I do not know if he posted details anywhere.
