View Full Version : [ubuntu] 12.04 Freeze after Login

August 17th, 2012, 11:24 PM

after updateing my system to 12.04, it freezes every time I log in. I rescured my data with strg+alt+F1 and reinstalled the system new from dvd.

Same Problem. When i enter my password the gui freezes. Sometimes first things like icons appear.

my system:
radeon hd 6850
core i5 760
8gm ram and normal harddisk with 512gb

What i've done so far in no special order:
- reinstall xdriver, try to somehow configure it, that it works ----> more broken than before
- install grafic drivers from AMD
- install other "gui" like in kubuntu, xubuntu or gnoeme3
- reinstall from usb-stick
- network install

At the Moment i have a more or less halfworking version of debian, but even this is making problems with the display.

So i hope anyone has an idea what i can do to solve this. I realy need the Pc for my work, and i cant get friendly with normal debian or other distributions like arch linux or so.
