hey guys am doing my final year undergraduation , i want to develop something medium scaled on the ubuntu platform .


can you guys suggest something which i can work on?

am interested in kernel level and device driver programming and c/c++.

How about native tool/applet to scale the framebuffer output, to a larger resolution than the system supports?

I remember there was a script somewhere for this... but cant for the life of me remember what it was called..

(Yeah i figure this is more complex than it sounds, but think of those netbook users that would benefit :) )

The other day there was a discussion in these forums about how only two brands of webcams makers support ubuntu.

So, there you have a potential project, pick the third webcam maker to make drivers for.
